The VB6 IDE can be used on newer platforms, like Windows 7 and Windows 8… some of the toolset components (like the parser and project system) require .NET Framework 4.5. It doesn´t seem to be worth the effort to downgrade some portions of the code to just support a Visual Studio version also having a shrinking number of users…

For VB6 IDE compatibility problems, some vb6 developers still use or switch to Windows XP while building vb6 programs. But XP can support only visual studio 2010 or below. I think it will be better if this extension can support visual studio 2010.
